Details
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe and Canopy Walk
Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from Kigali (or Huye if closer). We’ll drive south through rolling hills and tea plantations, with a few stops along the way for photos or a coffee break.
By midday, we’ll reach Nyungwe National Park, one of Africa’s oldest and most diverse rainforests. After checking in at the park, we’ll head to the Canopy Walk, a suspended bridge 60 meters above the forest floor. The views are incredible, and you might spot monkeys, birds, and butterflies along the way.
In the late afternoon, we’ll settle into your lodge or guesthouse near the park. You’ll have time to relax, enjoy the cool forest air, and have dinner surrounded by nature.
Day 2: Morning Hike or Monkeys & Return to Kigali
After breakfast, we’ll join a guided nature walk or monkey trek depending on availability and interest. Nyungwe is home to 13 species of primates and over 300 bird species. Your guide will help spot wildlife and share fascinating facts about the forest.
We’ll return to the lodge to freshen up and have an early lunch (optional), then begin the scenic drive back to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
