This relaxed 3-hour tour is a delicious way to experience Kigali like a local. We’ll take you on a flavorful journey through Rwandan cuisine — from traditional dishes to tasty street eats and refreshing local beers.
We begin with a walk or drive (depending on location) to a popular local eatery to try Rwanda’s signature foods like brochettes (grilled meat), ibirayi (fried potatoes), isombe (cassava leaves), and more. We'll also stop at street stalls to taste freshly made sambaza (small fried fish), chapati, or roasted maize, depending on what's in season.
Next, we’ll visit a local bar or beer garden where you can sample Rwanda’s most-loved beers — including Primus, Mützig, Skol, and some craft brews from local breweries. If you like, we’ll also try banana beer, a traditional favorite with a story of its own.
Throughout the experience, your guide will share fun insights into Kigali’s food culture, the history behind popular dishes, and where locals really go to eat and unwind.
Whether you're a foodie or just curious, this tour is a great way to taste Rwanda and meet the people who bring its flavors to life.
