Your journey with Iriza Tours & Safaris starts with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Kigali. Drive southwest through Rwanda’s rolling hills, with a stop for photos and lunch along the way.

Continue to Uwinka Visitor Center in Nyungwe National Park, where you will meet your park ranger and begin the first section of the Cyinzobe Trail.

Hike for approximately 3 hours through the forest, enjoying the vegetation and peaceful surroundings before reaching your first campsite.

Enjoy dinner and an evening of rest in the forest cabins.

Overnight: Forest cabin

After breakfast, continue your Cyinzobe Trail adventure with your Iriza Tours & Safaris team and park ranger.

Today is the longest hiking section, taking approximately 6 hours. Walk deeper into Nyungwe through giant ferns, orchids, moss-covered paths, and dense forest.

Reach the spectacular Kamiranzovu Swamp and Waterfall, a peaceful area rich in birdlife and amphibians.

Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing through the changing forest terrain to your second campsite.

Overnight: Forest cabin

After breakfast, begin the final approximately 3-hour hike out of the forest towards Gisakura.

Enjoy the forest scenery and birdlife along the trail, with views of the surrounding tea plantations as you approach the end of the hike.

After the hike, you may enjoy an optional tea experience or local lunch before beginning your journey back to Kigali.
