Frequently Asked Questions

Enjoy an evening exploring Kigali with a local guide, visiting lively bars, lounges, music spots and local places while experiencing the city safely and comfortably.
Rwanda offers gorilla trekking throughout the year. Many travelers prefer the drier periods because trekking conditions can be easier, but the forests remain beautiful year-round. We can also help you choose the best travel dates based on your itinerary and preferences.
Gorilla trekking involves hiking through mountainous forest and the terrain can be steep, muddy and slippery. The length and difficulty vary depending on where the gorilla family is located. A reasonable level of fitness and proper walking shoes are recommended.
We recommend sturdy hiking shoes, long trousers, long sleeves, gloves and a lightweight waterproof jacket. Gaiters can also be useful because the forest can be wet and the vegetation can include stinging nettles.
Absolutely. Rwanda makes it possible to combine different experiences in one trip, such as gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, a wildlife safari in Akagera National Park, or chimpanzee trekking and the canopy walk in Nyungwe National Park. We can help arrange a private itinerary around the time you have available.
The Rwandan franc is the main local currency, while US dollars are widely accepted, particularly for larger tourism services. Cards are increasingly accepted, but carrying some cash is still useful, especially outside Kigali.
